We believe the way to create a meaningful life is to live authentically. We meet our clients where they are and work with them to identify and achieve their goals. Carencia is not therapy, but it is a safe place to practice what you might learn there. Carencia will help guide you to take active steps toward your own satisfaction. Let us know how we can help you be exactly who you want to be.

Mentoring and coaching are collaborative processes. All client engagements begin with an introductory session designed to establish trust and identify goals as well as potential conflicts and roadblocks. Number of sessions depends on the number of short-term and long-term goals identified. Depending on client needs, yoga, reiki, meditation and/or breathing/pranayama can be incorporated into sessions.

Carencia is also available for speaking engagements to classes, clubs, or other gatherings. Just use the contact form below to inquire about dates and subject matter.

About

Carencia is led by Ally Leonard who spent the majority of her career (19 years) as a Spanish teacher at The Altamont School and served in many roles throughout her tenure, such as advisor, SGA/club sponsor, Dean of Students, and Head of Middle School. Ally was passionate about Spanish and her students. She was a visionary, creating a separate identity for the middle school and a middle school leadership program that became part of the C. Kyser Miree Center for Ethical Leadership. Ally also created the Global Initiatives Program for which the school was awarded a $100,000 Ford grant.

Leaving a job after 19 years was both freeing and terrifying. Ally realized she was having a professional identity crisis, because so much of herself was wrapped up in her roles as educator/administrator. So, she started doing the work, and with help from her mentors, Ally reinvented herself—finding new ways to channel her passion for mentoring and helping people be the best version of themselves. By being curious and asking the right questions, Ally is able to help her clients envision and create a path towards the next chapter in their story.

A native of Birmingham, Ally has lived abroad and traveled extensively. She is married and has two children. Ally holds certifications in Life Coaching, Yoga Instruction, and Reiki Practice (level 2).
